A MAN was arrested on drugs charges after a police chase ended with him crashing his car into a fence in the East End. 

Earlier today, police say the man failed to stop for officers when instructed which resulted in him being pursued along London Road. 

The 19-year-old crashed into a fence and electrical box on the street after the short chase.

A quantity of cannabis was found in the car and the man was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic and drugs offences. 

No one was injured in the chase and no police vehicles were damaged.

He has been released on an undertaking and will appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date. 

A police spokesman said: "Around 11.45pm on Saturday, January 16, 2021, a car failed to stop for officers on London Road in Glasgow.

“A short pursuit followed before the car struck a fence and electrical junction box on London Road. Nobody was injured in the incident and no police vehicles were damaged.

“A quantity of cannabis was recovered from the vehicle and a 19-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic and drug offences and has been released on an undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.”
