A SERIAL thief tried to wipe his DNA by splashing a crime scene with alcohol.
William Brown had been freed early from jail when he targeted a hall used by religious groups in Whiteinch in December 2018.
The 40 year-old, of the city's Pollok, bagged loot stolen from lockers before police arrived.
Prosecutor John Bedford told Glasgow Sheriff Court: "Brown had been hiding and exited with a suitcase containing two CD players.
"He then made efforts to remove his DNA and fingerprints by emptying a bottle of alcohol over the window and made off."
Brown was traced as the culprit - but still went on to carry out similar crimes.
He raided a paint store in the city's Tradeston, a Harvester pub in Springfield Quay twice and a baby shop in Govan.
Brown had also targeted a community centre in Whiteinch.
He was jailed for two years after he pleaded guilty to seven charges including three housebreaking offences and theft.
