SIR Rod Stewart has revealed he warned football bosses he would be drunk before that infamous cup draw.

The Celtic-daft rocker went viral and had fans in stitches when he drew out the names for a Scottish Cup round in 2017.

After appearing to jokingly prod Scottish FA president Alan McRae under the podium, he shouted the numbers as they were drawn, cheered when Celtic were handed a home tie, and gave a thumbs up to the camera.

The clip of the draw went viral and Stewart, 76, has now told of his pride that it was viewed all over the world. He revealed his over-the-top hand gestures when picking out the balls was an impersonation Rod Hull and his Emu puppet.

Speaking on the Harry Redknapp Show podcast, he said: "I did tell them, I said 'Listen guys when I come and watch the football I do like a bevvy or two'. They said 'Don't worry about it.'

"I was doing the Emu every time I was pulling the balls out.

"I had had a couple and my best mate was sitting on the floor next to me behind the desk putting me off.
