AN East End primary school was in flames this evening sparking a major emergency response.
At its peak, four fire engines were on the scene tackling the blaze at St Maria Goretti Primary School in Cranhill.
Firefighters remain at the Skerryvore Road school but it is not thought anyone was injured.
Police were called to the scene and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "At around 5.15pm on Friday, January 22, we were made aware of a fire at a premises on Skerryvore Road in Glasgow.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances."
