Drugs with an estimated street value of £520,000 were recovered in Lanarkshire. 

Two operations took places in Bellshill and Motherwell last week. 

Yesterday morning, cannabis with an estimated street value of £255,000 was recovered from a house on Dalriada Crescent, Motherwell. 

Nobody was arrested in connection and officers are continuing their probe into recovery.

Earlier in the week on January 20, a house on Motherwell Road, Bellshil was searched. 

Drugs believed to include heroin, cocaine, cannabis, amphetamine and Valium were seized. Their estimated street value was £265,000.

Two men, aged 36 and 45, were arrested and charged in connection with this recovery. 

They were due before Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday, 22 January, 2021. 

Sergeant Thomas Cairns said: “These high-value recoveries show our commitment to detecting and disrupting the supply and production of drugs in Lanarkshire.  We will continue to work to disrupt supply routes and protect those in our local communities who are affected by the illicit drug trade.
