AN NHS mental health service has taken more than one million calls from people suffering from anxiety and depression.
It comes before Breathing Space Day on February 1, which is held to highlight the service’s work over the year and to encourage habits which promote good mental health, such as enjoying nature or exercising.
Clare Haughey, the minister for mental health, said the service’s work was especially important during the pandemic.
Breathing Space is available in the evenings (6pm to 2am weekdays) and 24 hours at the weekend (Friday 6pm to Monday 6am) on 0800 83 85 87. The web chat service can be accessed from www.breathingspace.scot.
