UPDATE: The road has now reopened
A MAJOR South Side road has been locked down after a four car crash this evening.
Emergency services have rushed to the M77 near junction three following the collision at around 5pm.
The condition of those involved is not yet known but police have closed the road southbound.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police were called around 5.05pm following the report of a four vehicle road crash on the M77 Northbound at junction 3.
"Emergency services are currently in attendance and there are no details on injuries at this time.
"The road is currently closed."
An update from Traffic Scotland read: "Southbound blocked at J3 due to a road traffic collision.
"Emergency services on scene."
