BORIS Johnson will arrive in Scotland today as part of a visit to "show the strength of the Union" - and the news has divided Glasgow.

The Prime Minister will make the trip north of the border amid increased support for Scottish independence and political wrangling over credit for measures to mitigate the Covid-19 pandemic.

While it is not clear yet if he will come to the city, it is widely expected he will visit a "Central Belt" location.

However, the move has been condemned by some with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon today saying she is "not ecstatic" about the plan.
