Current Celtic assistant John Kennedy is now the second favourite to become Hoops boss, if Neil Lennon was to be sacked.

Lennon is under increased pressure with the Hoops failing to find a consistent run of form in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic currently only have one win since the turn of the year and after defeat to St Mirren yesterday the pressure is really starting to mount on Lennon and his team.

In the bookies market Celts No2 Kennedy is now priced at 3/1 with Sky Bet and is second favourite only behind Rafa Benitez.

Eddie Howe (4/1), Frank Lampard (6/1) and Alex Neil (7/1) are also all in the running.

Despite the pressure mounting on Lennon he is adamant that he will not walk away from his position.

He said earlier this week: “I’m very comfortable with what I’m doing and I have great support from the board, Peter Lawwell [the chief executive] and also my backroom team.

"So, no, I don’t feel isolated in any way, shape or form. I’m not happy with the way the season’s gone so far but I’m very comfortable with my role and pretty determined we get the best out of the rest of the season.”
