A BAILLIESTON care home have raised thousands for a vital piece of technology to help residents throughout the pandemic.
Staff at Swintonhill Nursing Home started a GoFundMe page with the aim of raising £6000 for a bespoke interactive touch screen device which will provide residents with reminiscence, brain training, physical exercise, creativity, entertainment and the opportunity to video call family and friends as visits are not able to go ahead currently.
The fundraiser has now smashed it’s target raising almost £7500 for the cutting edge piece of technology and now any extra fundraising will go towards building a summer house in the home’s garden.
Organiser of the fundraiser, Ava Henderson said:”Living through this pandemic is hard for everyone but with the use of technology it seems to make it that little bit better and we want to bring that to life.”
