Scott Wright always expected there to be a backlash after his decision to make the move from Aberdeen to Rangers.

But now after commiting to the Ibrox club on a permanent basis this January window he insists he is fully focused on matters on the park.

Speaking in today's press conference, the new Gers signing said: "I'm buzzing to be here and can't wait to get started. I've seen the way Rangers play and it will really suit my game. I appreciate my time and development at Aberdeen and ready to take my game to the next level.

"I'm looking forward to meeting the boys and hoping to work my way into the team.

"I'm very thankful to all the staff at Aberdeen for taking care of me on my journey but for me, it is now time to focus on Rangers and breaking into the team.

"Most importantly for me is to fit into the team, no matter the position and try and make it my own.

"There was always going to be a bit of a backlash, I expected that but it was a decision I had to make. Joining such a massive club I think can take me to the next level and I can't wait to get started.

"It's great to have a friendly face here in Ryan Jack but all the boys and staff have been so welcoming.

"As a professional player you want to play for the national team but for now my focus is on getting settled in at Rangers.

"It is a very exciting time to be joining Rangers. I'm looking forward to getting started and training today."
