LOOKING at the above picture, does no-one have the mentality to fold down cardboard boxes (City bin men hit out at rat sightings after attack, Wednesday)?

I am sure if they did then the overflowing bins would probably not be, as it is clearly a case of people who don’t realise that they have to put in a bit of effort to keep their living space tidy.

“People make Glasgow” eh? Yes, people make Glasgow the mess it is.

THE inhabitants of this city are responsible for the state of it! Fewer bin collections only compound the problem and we need more bin men and less people in the offices. It’s not rocket science, to break down boxes! Same goes with the huge pizza boxes blocking the street bins; which again, are not emptied enough and over-flowing and so making the street cleaners’ jobs futile!

Who is in charge of cleansing (by this I mean not just taking a large salary) and what are they going to do about it; other than putting out more coloured bins?

They will claim lack of finance! So fine the litter-droppers and fly-tippers and if they can’t or won’t pay, make them clean under staff supervision!

PEOPLE like TR must really hate their own country. They spend all their energy telling us how bad we are at everything and totally dependent on another nation to keep us on the straight and narrow. They fail to accept that at general elections it doesn’t matter how we vote in Scotland, the outcome is always determined by voters in England.

Folk like TR accept this and consider that we are too wee and too stupid to run our own affairs.

I’D like to know which members of the public thought this a good idea because it’s the first I’ve heard of it (Water charge increase: Here’s how much bills in Glasgow will rise to, January 3). All members of the public should have had a say in this.

PEOPLE are saying don’t send the children back to school because it’s not safe yet ... I see children out playing together every day (‘We’ll be back to square one’: Glasgow reacts to phased return to classrooms, Tuesday).
