A TAXI driver who crashed his car in Springburn has tragically died. 

We told on Sunday how a local reported the cabbie had suffered a heart attack at the wheel. 

He was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where, sadly, he died a short time after the crash at the weekend.

His family have been informed and police are looking to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident as they launch a probe. 

The crash occurred at around 11.35am on Sunday, February 7 in Auchentoshan Terrace. 

Police Sergeant Kenny Malaney, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the man involved in this crash.

“We are currently conducting enquiries into the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

“I would urge anyone who has any information that could assist with our investigation that they get in contact with police.

“If any road users have any dash-cam footage of the area around the time of the incident, please get in touch with officers.
