There were another 830 positive coronavirus cases were recorded yesterday, which was 5.2% of all tests carried out.

Of the total, there were 257 in Greater Glasgow and Clyde and 133 in Lanarkshire health baord areas.

Across Scotland there was a reduction of 27 in the number of people in hospital to 1472 and thre were 115 patients in intensive care an increase of 6.

The number of people in intensive care for more than 28 days was 30.

There were another 67 deaths registered of someone who tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 28 days.

The total now stands at 6666 deaths since the pandemic started.

Jeane Freeman, the Health Secretary, said there had been another record number of vaccinations carried out on thursday.

There were 64,881 carried out taking the total to 1,113,628 since the prgramme started in December.
