First Minister Nicola Sturgeon gave the latest update on coronavirus and the number of deaths, people in hospital and vaccinations carried out.

There have been 559 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, which was 7% of all tests carried out. The total number since the pandemic started is now 192,375 positive cases.

There were 123 positive cases in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 112 in Lothian and 97 in Lanarkshire.

There were 1428 people in hospital, down by 15 and 102 patients in intensive care, down 2.

No deaths were registered in the last 24 hours. Since Friday there have been 49 deaths taking the total to 6715.

A total of 1,255,190 vaccinations have now been carried out, including 31,416 on Sunday.

Sturgeon said that 81,745 jags were given to people over the weekend and 388,000 administered over the last week.

She said today is final day of the target period for vaccinating all over 70s and those in the extreme clinincal vulnerability group.

She siad: "We are satisfied we have met the target.

"However, as will be the case in any large system, we can't rule out wrong adresses or letters going astray. If that's you, get in touch with your GP or as a last resort e-mail me at firstminister@gov.scot

"We will get to everybody. Nobody is going to be left behind."

She said the numbers will drop this week.

Sturgeon added: "We are unlikely to do more than 30,000 a day, this week. We have a lower than expected supply available to us this week."
