Rangers duo Kemar Roofe and Leon Balogun are both just one booking away from suspension in the Europa League.

If either player are flashed a card on Thursday against Royal Antwerp in the last 32 of the competition, they will then miss the return leg at Ibrox on February 25.

Europa League suspensions are handed out to any player who collects three bookings in the tournament, however yellow cards which count towards suspensions are cleared by UEFA on completion of the quarter-finals.

Roofe faces a ban sweat after picking up two yellow cards against Standard Liege, the first came for his celebration after his stunning half-way line strike in Belgium.

Balogun picked up two yellows in the group stages during Rangers' double header against Lech Poznan.

Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard has admitted that attending Old Firm games with his Rangers-daft Scottish agent when he was a Liverpool player didn’t prepare him for the intense pressure of managing the Ibrox club.

Speaking to the Robbie Fowler podcast, Gerrard said: “I’ll take you back to when I played for Liverpool and on my bucket list was always to go to an Old Firm game.

“I’ve been with the same agent since I was 18 or 19, Struan Marshall, who is a big Rangers fan.

“So I heard a lot of stories and heard him talking about the size of the Old Firm clubs and what it would be like if they managed to get down south and become part of the Premier League.

“So I wanted to come up and sample it for myself. I went to Old Firms at Celtic Park and at Rangers.

“In terms of the magnitude of an Old Firm game and the size of the clubs - the noise, support and atmosphere - I was well aware of it before I took the job.”
