STAFF at one of Glasgow's most famous restaurants have been left heartbroken after a large-scale water leak caused significant damage to its premises.
Bosses at Rogano said the recent blow has only added to additional stresses caused by the coronavirus crisis.
A source told the Glasgow Times that the leak, caused from a nearby property, has "wrote off" the art-deco floors and furniture.
They said: "It was a massive flood, the whole place is affected from it".
The renowned restaurant, which has been serving Glaswegians and celebrities since 1935, has been closed since March last year due to Covid restrictions.
A spokeswoman for the venue said: “We can confirm that Rogano had been damaged by water leaks coming from a nearby property.
"We are very disappointed with the damage, which has only added to the issues caused by the covid-19 emergency.”
Rogano has hosted famous faces over the decades including Rod Stwart, Elizabeth Taylor, Ewan MacGregor, Kylie Minogue and Jude Law.
