A MAN was rushed to hospital with face wounds after a "particularly nasty" attack in Rutherglen.
The 36-year-old was assaulted by another man on Farmeloan Road, near to the M74, at around 9pm on Saturday.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, where he was treated for a serious injury.

Officers have described the suspect as being white, with a tall slim build and wearing a pink coloured t-shirt
Detective constable Steven Totten, of Cambuslang Police Station, said: "This was a particularly nasty attack which has left the man with a significant facial injury.
"We are still trying to establish a motive for the attack and so would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen on Saturday evening around 9pm.

"Officers are checking CCTV at the moment and carrying out door to door enquiries."
