A gunshot was fired at a house in Calton in what police understand to be a "targeted attack". 

Officers were called to the scene on Green Street yesterday evening after receiving reports of a discharged firearm. 

As well as two adults, two children - aged two and six - had been inside the property at the time of the incident. 

Although nobody was injured, a window has been damaged.

Police are carrying out extensive inquiries and are checking CCTV footage within the area. 

The force are appealing to the public for any information to assist their investigation.

Detective Sergeant Lisa MacDonald of Shettleston Police Station said: “I believe that this was a targeted attack, carried out at night to intimidate the occupants of the house.

“This type of behaviour is completely reckless and will not be tolerated. Thankfully no one was injured during this incident, however there were two adults and two young children, aged two and six, in the house at the time.

"Additional police patrols will be present in the area to provide public reassurance as we work to trace those responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who has information at all to please come forward and speak to officers as a matter of urgency. I would also ask anyone driving in the area of Green Street on Tuesday evening around the time of the shooting with dash-cam footage to come forward.
