THIS weekend is the last time only pub beer gardens will be open.

Restaurants and pub gardens have been able to serve customers sitting outdoors - including alcohol from 12 April.

From Monday, venues will be able to open for indoor service.

Customers will be able to meet in a group of up to six people from different households; a maximum of two households can meet to form a group of any size.

So ahead of indoor service resuming next week, here are some of our favourite pub gardens.

The bright and colourful beer garden at Sixty is a perfect place to wind away the last of the summer days with good pals and good bevs.

The large patio garden can be well covered in the event of a downpour with large umbrellas whilst there are also groovy, heated beach huts to cosy up in as the night gets cooler.

Urban Reef

Urban Reef is a cool beach front haunt great for groups and families alike.

The restaurant / bar is a great place to visit with kids as it boasts an upstairs terrace that must be pre-booked and a downstairs deck with easy access to the sea.

Although the decking doesn't leave much to the imagination, you cannot beat nature's own playground and there are first-come-first-served tables provided on the sand.

O'Neills
Old Christchurch Rd, Bournemouth BH1 1JZ

This Irish inspired chain pub has a large outside area with a decking and string fairy lights to help you see through the last of the summer.

Back Yard

1812 Exeter Rd, Bournemouth BH2 5BY

The awesome owners of Back Yard opened during the middle of the pandemic.

Determined to be a success the versatile outdoor bar doubles up as a Love Island inspired haven in summer and an Apres Ski lodge in the winter.

With loads of events going on throughout the year be sure to check out their Facebook to keep up to date with the latest.

George Tapps

Old Christchurch Road, BH1 1JZ

The George Tapps is home to the largest beer garden in Bournemouth with a large terrace out the back.

The pub is named after Sir George Tapps who was a landowner and one of the founders of Bournemouth.

Brewhouse and Kitchen

Commercial Rd, BH2 5LU

Bournemouth Echo:

The Brewhouse has something for every price point and wonderful garden to spend your weekend in.

There's plenty of space for everyone and with a wicked menu and huge variety of beer to choose from you can settle in and relax ... When we're allowed.

With astro turf, decking, beach huts and string lights it's a picturesque garden that makes up for the lack of sea view!

When will pubs properly reopen?

Hospitality venues can seat customers indoors; parties can be made up of a maximum of six people or two households of any size and groups seated outside must be smaller than 30 people from 17 May.

The government are hoping that all restrictions will be lifted, and nightclubs will be allowed to re-open again too from 21 June.
