A MAN was rushed to hospital with serious head and face injuries after a "brutal assault" in North Lanarkshire.
The 49-year-old was attacked on Rosevale Crescent, Bellshill, between 8.30pm and 9pm on Friday.
Officers probing the incident say he "required immediate treatment" due to the seriousness of his wounds.

Detective constable Colin Sharp, of Lanarkshire CID, said: "This was a particularly brutal assault where the male victim sustained multiple head and facial injuries which required immediate hospital treatment."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
