Covid cases continue a slow but steady decline across Glasgow, the latest weekly statistics show.

The number of positive tested cases in the seven days up to Friday, February 26, was down to 781.

It is drop of 9% from the week before when the total was 856. The weekly total has been falling week on week since January. after a spike following Christmas.

The rate per 100,000 of population has fallen to 123.4 in Glasgow and the percentage of all tests carried out, that were positive, is down to 5.6%

 The city is still higher than the Scottish rate, which has been falling to 84.3 per 100,000 with 4604 cases in the last week.

Glasgow is lower than seven other council areas in Scotland with Falkirk the highest at 172 per 100,000, followed by Stirling at 154 and West Dunbartonshire at 138.

The other that have a higher rate than Glasgow are Clackmannanshire, North Lanarkshire, West Lothian and Renfrewshire.

Scottish Borders, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen city have the lowest of the mainland areas at below 30 per 100,000.

In Glasgow the community with the highest rate is Nitshill, with 29 new positive cases which is a rate of 458 per 100,000.

Two others have a rate of above 400, the highest category, shown as the darkest purple on the map.

They are Pollokshields East, with 23 new cases, a rate of 456.6 and Old Shettleston/Parkhead North with 20 new cases a rate of 412.5 per 100,000.

There are 27 areas with a rate of between 200 and 399 shown as the lighter purple on the map.

At the higher end are Drumchapel North, Pollokshields West, Cranhill/Lightburn/Queenslie South, Dalmarnock, Govanhill West, Drumry West and Garthamlock/Auchinlea/Gartloch all between 320 and 330 per 100,000.

At the lower end of that category are Maryhill East, Summerston North Robroyston/Millerston,Carntyne West/Haghill all below 210.
