THERE was another increase in the number of Glasgow areas where the rate of Covid-19 is the lowest - between 0 and 2 cases - and the virus is considered “suppressed”.

For the last week there were 41 areas across the city in that category, shown on the map as white.

The previous week there had been 28 which was up from 22 two weeks earlier.

The areas include North Kelvin and Sighthill which both had between 0 and 2 for the sixth week in a row.

Anniesland East and Carmyle and Mount Vernon both had the lowest level for the fourth week in a row.

There are 39 areas with a rate of between 100 and 199 shown as the darker grey on the map.

At the higher end are Craigton, Barmulloch, Shettleston North, strathbungo, Victoria Park and Darnley west all above 180 per 100,000.

At the lower end of that category are Blairdardie West, Shetleston South, Bailieston west, Alexandra Parade and Darnley North, all below 115 per 100,000.

Another 15 areas have a rate of between 50 and 99 per 100,000 shown as the lighter grey on the map.

They include, at the higher end, Mosspark, Bridgeton, Hillhead, Easterhouse East, Milton East and Glasgow Harbour/Partick South all above 90.

At the lower end are Partickhill/Hyndland and Anniesland West, under 60.
