Another 12 people have died after contracting Covid-19, according to the Scottish Government latest figures. 

A total of 555 positive cases of the virus were reported yesterday after 22,992 tests. 

Of those new cases 166 were in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 91 in NHS Lanarkshire and 72 in NHS Lothian. 

The positivity rate of the tests remains under the WHO recommended guideline of 5% and currently stands at 3.0%. 

Yesterday, 639 people were in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19, down from 666. 

Of those in hospital, 63 were receiving intensive care - down by one. 

1,743,869 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 114,081 have received their second dose
