GLASGOW TikTok sensation Jimmy Stewart only downloaded the social media app for his 6-year-old granddaughter Kianna.

“This was all down to my wee granddaughter. She put it on my phone before the lockdown happened so I can keep my eye on her," he said.

Jimmy now has over 150,000 followers on the app and Glasgow is loving his content which has even reached the eyes of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

His popular series of hotel lockdown cooking was duetted by Ramsay two days ago.

The Glasgow man, who regularly travels for his job, has been using an iron, a hair tong and pringle cans to create full meals from a hotel room.

Ramsay had his own thoughts on the creation.

"No, come on, stop it," the chef said reacting to one of the videos.

He added: "And now a hair tongs sauce. That will definitely put hairs on your chest"

Jimmy said it was "magic" to see the chef reaction.

He added: "All my followers had been tagging him previously and then all of a sudden one of his young chefs started doing what I was doing.

"But now that he has duetted me I am quite happy about it.”

He added that his followers have sky-rocketed in the past four weeks.

“I left to go to work four weeks ago and I was only at 30,000 - well not only, I thought that was fantastic. I didn’t think I was going to get anymore."

But hotel cooking is nothing new for Jimmy, who has been working in the rail industry since he was 19.

"In emergencies, I would boil a kettle up and put an egg in it but since lockdown, I have just started doing this as a joke and then it kind of took off and then I started doing it for real," he said.

While he is familiar with staying in hotels for long periods of time, the pandemic has made the experience different.

"I am trying not to leave the room after work because I am kind of scared of meeting strangers now with the pandemic.

"It is scary moving into a different city every week. So I try to keep myself to myself so that I can see my family when I am home."

Jimmy is humble about his large numbers of followers and added: "I dont really find it as a success. I just feel as if I am passing the time and keeping myself busy."

TikTok has, however, become a part of his life.

"I don't really find it as a success. I just feel as if I am passing the time and keeping myself busy."

The TikTok star is blown away by the support of the Glasgow community.

“They all think I am a Glasgow hero now.

"Some people have said I make them proud to be Scottish and Glaswegian. Aye, it is brilliant."
