A BID to transform a charity shop into a takeaway has been rejected by planning chiefs.
Council bosses have thrown out proposals to takeover the Barnardo’s store at 137 Glasgow Road in Baillieston.
They say the plan would have been “detrimental” to the local area.

In a decision notice, planning chiefs wrote: [The] plan in that the proposed development would reduce the number of shop units in the block to less than 50% to the detriment of local shopping provision.”
Meanwhile, another bid to open a cafe in an unused betting shop was also kicked into touch.

Planning chiefs rejected the move at 38 London Road, citing that it went against the Local Development Plan.
They said as the area already has a number of cafes and restaurants it would be harmful to residential properties.
