FAMILY Favourites The McDougalls are putting on a virtual stage show from Eastwood Park Theatre.

The McDougalls Big Splash will be available to watch from home during the Easter holidays April 2 to 10.

Eastwood Park Theatre, part of East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, was awarded a grant from the Scottish Government through Creative Scotland, to support Scottish performing arts venues that are currently unable to open to the public. The funding is being used to bring shows to the stage to be enjoyed virtually, while supporting local artists and organisations, as well as planning for a sustainable return to the theatre.

The McDougalls said: "We've been so excited to be back filming in Eastwood Park Theatre, but we're missing you - our audience! Join us online, we're sure you'll love our brand new show full of underwater fun!"

The show follows the success of The McDougalls' first virtual Christmas, which was filmed at the Giffnock theatre and broadcast to homes, schools, and nurseries in the local area. The McDougalls Big Splash will see Max, Auntie Aggie, and Morag the Rabbit swim deep under the sea for an enchanting adventure. The stage show is packed with seaside singalong songs, audience participation, and musical mayhem.

Anthony McReavy, from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, said: "We look forward to welcoming family favourites The McDougalls back to our stage this spring and to help keep kids entertained while they're at home this Easter, thanks to support from Creative Scotland.

“Eastwood Park Theatre is a vibrant arts and culture venue at the heart of our community and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to our theatre when we can reopen safely.”

The theatre has announced a series of virtual shows, with more to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Singing Kettle star Artie will perform two live lockdown shows, offering a trip down memory lane, with Artie's Singing Kettle Show on March 13 and Artie's Singing Kettle Story Songs on March 20.

The McDougalls Big Splash tickets are £8 per household, with a selection of dates/times to choose from. For more information and to book tickets, visit: www.eastwoodparktheatre.co.uk.
