THIS is the first look at what vacant land in a North Glasgow neighbourhood could look like under plans to revitalise the area.
Streets in Gilshochill that have lain empty for years could see new homes built under plans drawn up by Glasgow City Council.
Images show impressions of what the scheme, to be built on Sandbank Street, Kilmun Street, Shiskine Drive and Lyndale Road, may look like.
Residents are asked to give their views on the plans when a consultation is launched on March 26. It will run until April 23.
Proposals include creating new cycle routes and footpaths and open public space including a water feature to divert surface water and prevent flooding.
Kenny McLean, chair of Transforming Communities Glasgow, the council agency behind the consultation, said residents could help “shape this masterplan for a part of Maryhill that offers great potential as a place to live and visit”.
Bryony Willett, head of Maryhill Housing Association, also involved in the plans, said: “Maryhill Housing is committed to developing homes and neighbourhoods to feel proud of and we are incredibly excited to be part of the team developing plans to transform this area of North Maryhill.
