Glasgow women paid tribute to Sarah Everard by leaving ribbons and notes at locations across the city on Saturday.

Joining in on nationwide Reclaim These Streets events, Glasgow organisers called for a Covid-safe way to pay tribute.

Ribbons and notes were dropped off at George Square, Queen's Park, the Mary Barbour Statue in Govan and Kelvingrove Park.

The events were prompted by the death of Sarah Everard who disappeared while walking home in London.

Notes left at Queen's Park also honoured Glasgow murder victim Moira Jones whose body was found in the park in 2008.

First Minister also shared a photo from the gates of Queen's Park.

The note read: "For Moira Jones, who I think of every time I walk through this park. We will fight to make a better world."

Nicola Sturgeon said she was "struck" by the photo.

She added: "The park is in the heart of my constituency and I, too, think of Moira every time I walk through or around it. #ReclaimTheStreets."

The First Minister also lit a candle in her window in Sarah's memory.

Glaswegians were also invited to light a candle in their window.

Organisers added: "While we appreciate that this may not feel like the most impactful form of support, we need to be both realistic and sensible in what we are doing at the moment with everything going on - and without the risk of hefty fines and arrest."
