GLASWEGIAN singer Michelle McManus has revealed her delight to her fans after receiving the first dose of a coronavirus vaccine.

The star, 40, attended Carmichael Hall in Giffnock for the jag. It is believed she was given the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.

The mum-of-one, who grew up in the city's Baillieston, said in a post on Instagram: "That’s my first dose of the vaccine done and dusted.

"What a set up at the Carmichael Hall in Giffnock. Staff were fantastic.

Wearing a blue top and mask - the colour of the NHS - she also posed for a selfie with the nurse who gave her the vaccine.

The former Glasgow Times columnist is one of many Scottish celebrities to share the moment they received the vaccine on social media. We previously reported on Lorraine Kelly and Sir Billy Connolly's receiving the jag.

MeManus, who married husband Jeff Nimmo in 2017, is best known for her stint on the reality TV series Pop Idol which she won in 2003.

The songstress later released the smash hit single All This Time.
