Some areas in Glasgow have suppressed Covid-19 for most of this year according to the latest weekly statisitics.

There were 45 areas, shown as white on the map, with between 0 and 2 cases and where the virus is considered suppressed at the tat time.

It is an increase from 41 the previous week.

The areas include Sighthill which has been considered “suppressed in eight out of the last nine weeks and in 19 of the last 22 weeks going back as far as October 2020.

It also includes North Kelvin where it has been in the lowest category for eight out the last none weeks, Dowanhill where it has been between 0 and 2 for seven of he last eight weeks and Partick with the lowest rate for six of the last seven weeks..

Others in the lowest category include Carnwadric East, Central Easterhouse, Kelvingrove and University, and Knightswood Park East, where it has been “suppressed for the last four weeks in a row. Broomhill has been between 0 and 2 for three of the last four weeks.

There were another 31 areas show as the lighter grey on the map with a rate of 50 to 99 per 100,000

They include Cowlairs at 4 cases which is 99 per 100,000 and Cardonald West with 5 which is 97 per 100,000.

At the lower end of that category was City Centre East with 6 new cases a rate of 57 per 100,000 and Mosspark and Darnley East both with 3 cases and a rate of 58 per 100,000.
