THESE photographs show the devastating impact of a blaze that ripped through a building in Pollokshields. 

Police and fire crews remained at the scene in St Andrews Road this morning.

Emergency crews were called at around 3am today. 

Images at the time show the extent of the blaze, with black smoke billowing into the sky.

It is not clear which businesses were affected but there are a number of firms with premises on the street, including a shisha bar and a takeaway.

Police are investigating the incident.

Fire crews are working to make sure the area is safe, a spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said. 

A police spokeswoman said: "Around 3am on Tuesday, March 23, we were called to a report of a fire at a premises on St Andrews Road. Emergency services are in attendance and the road is currently closed. 

"Enguries are ongoing."
