RESIDENTS in the South West of the city were affected by internet outages this morning.

Some may be connected with a crash that saw a motor collide with a cabinet in Halfway on Sunday.

A spokeswoman for the firm said that a "handful" of reports had been received in the Pollok and Crookston area and that engineers were working through the repairs.

But she added that damage to service because of that incident was not widespread.

The company received two internet fault reports on a different cabinet in the G53 or G52 postcode area today, which has since been fixed.

An Openreach spokeswoman added: "If anyone is having any ongoing loss of service we’d ask them to report it to their service provider.

"The Openreach network is used by more than 660 service providers so damage to any cabinet could potentially affect people using services from any of those providers."
