CELTIC utility man Nir Bitton will play no part in Scotland's clash with Israel this Sunday after the 29-year-old was sent home from his country's training camp after picking up an injury.
The Israeli's season has already been disrupted by injury after sustaining ligament damage in January and he has not featured for the Parkhead club since.
He had just about recovered from that injury and was named on the bench for last week's Old Firm derby, but that progress has now been set back after he tore his groin in training.
That ruled Bitton out of Thursday night's 2-0 defeat to Denmark, and the Israeli FA have now confirmed that the defender has returned to Glasgow to receive treatment.
A statement read: "Nir Bitton was injured in the groin. He underwent an ultrasound examination which revealed that he was suffering from a tear."
