A MAJOR road near Glasgow has been shut for several hours after a crash involving a crane.
The Erskine Bridge slip at the M898 just outside Bishopton, Renfrewshire, was closed at around 7.15am today.
Officers have confirmed the collision near the M8 was between a crane and another vehicle.

A clean-up operation is underway but at the time of writing the road remains shut.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 7.15am on Tuesday, March 30, police were called to a road crash on the M898 near to the Erskine Bridge involving a vehicle with a crane attached and another vehicle.
"Emergency services are in attendance and there are no reports of any injuries at this time."

An update from Traffice Scotland at 10.40am read: "The eastbound slip from the #M8 onto the #M898 northbound remains closed following an RTC involving a crane Cleanup and recovery work is underway.
"The slip may be closed for a number of hours for recovery."
