MURDER cops have been pictured scouring a block of flats in Blantyre after a body was discovered at the address yesterday afternoon. 

Forensic officers are currently searching the scene on Camelon Crescent, where a police cordon remains in place.

After responding to a report of a disturbance on the same street, officers found a 33-year-old man dead inside one of the flats. 

A post-mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death but in the meantime, officers are treating it as suspicious.

Police have been conducting door-to-door inquiries and checking CCTV footage from the area in their investigation.

While inquiries remain ongoing, A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Frank Travers from the Major Investigations Team said:  “This will be a shock to the community and I would like to reassure them that we are doing all we can to find out exactly what has happened.
