A man who was found dead in a flat in Blantyre has been named by police. 

He has been identified as 33-year-old Richard Marshall from Blantyre. 

The man died following a disturbance in a flat in Camelon Crescent on Wednesday afternoon which was reported around 3.30pm.

The family of Mr Marshall have asked for privacy and issued the following statement: "We are completely devastated by the loss of Richard who was a much-loved son, brother, uncle and good friend. He will be cherished in our hearts forever." 

Detectives are continuing with enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened. 

Detective Inspector Frank Travares, from the Major Investigations Team said: "Our thoughts are with Richard's family at this very difficult time and we are providing them with support. 

"We continue to appeal for witnesses and information. Anyone, who has not already spoken to officers and who can help our investigation, is asked to please contact us on 101, quoting incident number 2154 of 31 March 2021, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
