FOUR people were taken to hospital following a crash on the M8 in Glasgow.

One man, aged 31, suffered from serious but non-life threatening injury following the two vehicle smash near to Townhead on Sunday night. 

Three others, a 20-year-old man, a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, were all taken to hospital for minor injuries. 

Police closed the road for more than an hour.

The 20-year-old was charged with alleged road traffic offences in connection to the crash.

He will appear in court at a later date. 

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 8pm on Sunday, April 4, we received a report of a road traffic crash involving two vehicles on the M8 westbound near to junction 15.

“Emergency services attended and the road was closed for a short time and reopened at 9.30pm.

“A 31-year-old man suffered serious, non-life threatening injury and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

“Three other people, a 20-year-old man, a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, suffered minor injury and were also taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

“A 20-year-old man has been charged with road traffic offences in connection with the crash and will be subject of a report to the procurator fiscal."
