THE SUDDEN death of a woman in Maryhill is being treated as suspicious, Police Scotland have confirmed.
Forensic officers were called to the scene on Cumlodden Drive yesterday evening after the body of a 54-year-old woman was discovered inside a flat along the street.
The cause of death is not yet known, however a post mortem is due to be carried out.
Officers remain at the scene as inquiries continue.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At 5.25 pm on Tuesday April 6, officers were called to an address in Cumlodden Drive, Maryhill, Glasgow, where the body of a 54-year-old woman was found within.
"A post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the cause of her death, however, at this time her death is being treated as suspicious.
"Enquires are continuing.
"A police presence remains in the area."
