WORK is now underway to create three new pop-up bus lanes across the city.
Glasgow City Council has revealed that the bus priority measures will be installed on Paisley Road West, Bothwell Street and Renfrew Street.
This work is part of a series of measures that looks to give priority to buses at key points across Glasgow's road network which will be of particular benefit to those using public transport for essential journeys during Covid-19.
On Paisley Road West, the following will be introduced:
- A 24-hour bus lane westbound between Dumbreck Road and Bellahouston Drive (extending the existing 24-hour bus lane)
- A peak hour bus lane (Monday - Saturday 7am-9.30am and 4pm-7pm eastbound between Helen Street and Dumbreck Road (extending existing peak hour bus lane)
In the city centre, the following will be introduced:
- A 24-hour bus lane (eastbound) on Bothwell Street between Douglas Street and Wellington Street (parking/loading will be maintained inside the bus lane)
- A 24-hour bus lane (eastbound) on Renfrew Street between Cambridge Street and Hope Street
