THE steam train made famous in the Harry Potter film series passed through West Dunbartonshire train stations today.

The locomotive and carriages from the ‘Jacobite’ train went through Dalmuir train station to head to Fort William for the start of the summer season which runs from April 26 to October.

The train starred as the Hogwarts Express in the famous fantasy film series, with filming locations including the spectacular Glenfinnan Viaduct at the head of Loch Shiel.

It has become a tourist attraction in recent years taking passengers along the scenic West Highland rail line between Fort William and Mallaig.

It is understood that the train's winter base is in Carnforth in Lancashire.
