AN APPEAL has been launched to help trace a man missing from the Wishaw area.

Jack Dunnigan travelled to Wishaw on Wednesday, April 14 before calling his family to tell them he was on his way back to Overton at around 3pm, but never arrived.

The 40-year-old's family reported him missing yesterday and cops are appealing for help to find him.

He is described as being of thin build and is 5ft 9. He has short brown greying hair and grey facial hair.

He was wearing a black jumper with Henleys written on it, black jogging bottoms and a black hat.

Inspector Hugh Burns from Motherwell Police Station said: “John has never gone missing before and it is extremely out of character for him not to be in contact with his family for any length of time.

“They are becoming extremely worried about him and I am appealing to anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.

“It is possible John may have travelled to the Dundee area, where he is from originally, and I would urge people there to keep a look out for him a report any sightings to police.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 2551 of Thursday, 15 April, 2021.”
