Rangers have taken a cheeky pop at Celtic after their 2-0 win in the Scottish Cup fourth round at Ibrox.

Gers earned a solid victory over their rivals at home to knock the holders out of the competition.

Following interim Hoops boss John Kennedy's claims last week that Celts could still be considered the biggest and best in the Scottish Premiership, Gers' social media team had the last laugh with their taunt on the full-time whistle.

Sharing a victory photo, they captioned it: "A win against the best team in the league."

The snap was liked and shared more than 26,000 times collectively. Kennedy, before the game, said: "I have full belief in the squad we have here, that on our day we are still the best team in the country. One hundred-per-cent. That’s the reaction you have to have. There was always going to come a point where we had a setback."

Borna Barisic, the Gers left-back, laughed off Kennedy's suggestions before the game, claiming it was the "biggest joke of the year".

Gers won the Premiership title this season and are on course to do well in the Scottish Cup after today's 2-0 win. Steven Davis and a Jonjoe Kenny own goal provided the Light Blues' win.
