A MAN demanded £20 to leave his father’s home – despite being barred from entering the house by a court.

Conner Hendry, of Dumbarton Road in Yoker, was granted bail from Glasgow Sheriff Court on September 22, last year, on the condition he would not attend the home of his dad or attempt to contact him.

However, the 22-year-old travelled to the couple’s home in Knightswood’s Athelstane Road around 3am on March 22.

Fiscal depute Jessica McGowan stated Hendry was “under the influence” when he showed up and asked for 20 in order to leave.

She added: “He was told they didn’t have cash. He began to shout and swear at his father and began banging.”

Last week, the court heard police found Hendry within the property.

Ms McGowan explained he was not cautioned or charged due to “his demeanour”.

Hendry’s defence agent said his client had pleaded guilty to breaching his bail conditions as well as acting in a threatening and aggressive manner by shouting, swearing and banging on the door.

and had received a “fairly favourable report”.

He told the court Hendry was living with his mother, however, had been living with his father and grandmother prior to September, last year.

The defence agent said: “He turned up around 3am and he had been drinking fairly heavily and that caused him to behave in the way he did. He had been upset because his grandmother had died some weeks before that – in essence he had been brought up by his grandmother.”

He added: “There’s probably occasions where he drinks too much alcohol and have occasional drug use.”

The court also heard Hendry has been in full-time employment for six years and works six days a week between 9am to 5pm.

Hendry’s defence agent called for a restriction of liberty order given a “lack of previous offending” and he may also “benefit” from a period of social work supervision.

Sheriff Charles Lugton deferred sentence for four months during which Hendry will be required to work alongside the social work department to tackle any alcohol issues.

He said: “This is an opportunity for you to use the support to address these issues.”

Sentence was deferred until August 17.
