A SEX predator who raped two sleeping women has been jailed for six years.

Andrew Kane, 21, first struck at a house in Glasgow’s Drumchapel in February 23 2020.

He was later charged and bailed by a sheriff.

But, Kane pounced again last October 3 this time at his home in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire.

Kane was yesterday sentenced having earlier pleaded guilty to two rape charges.

Both victims were at the High Court in Glasgow to see their attacker jailed.

Lady Stacey told Kane: "What you did has had a serious and lasting effect on the two women involved and you need to realise that.

"The social worker (in a pre sentencing report) is concerned that you may remain a danger to young women even after a period of custody."

The judge said, as a result, Kane would be supervised for a further 18 months on his release.

The court earlier heard how Kane had lay beside the first victim.

Both then appeared to be sleeping.

But, the 21 year-old woman wakened and found her trousers at her ankles.

Kane was confronted about what happened, but he soon left his crying victim.

The second woman - aged 20 - awoke to find her clothes pulled down and Kane having sex with her.

After she protested she had been sleeping, the rapist stated: "That is not the first time someone has told me that."

Sean Templeton, defending, today said: "I understand both women are in court and I wish to repeat his apologies on his behalf.

"I can only impress on the two young women he regrets his behaviour."

Kane was put on the sex offenders list.
