A MAN was brutally attacked by three thugs in the street in what police are treating as attempted murder.
The 30-year-old was walking with a friend Henderson Street, Paisley when he was jumped by the armed gang who rushed from a close.
He was sent to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he is being treated for serious head injuries.

Medics describe his condition as serious but stable.
The suspects, who were all white and wearing dark clothing, fled the scene. Members of the public came to the aid of the victim and called emergency services.
Police believe the attack was pre-planned and targeted.
Detective Inspector Ian Ross from Paisley CID said: “From enquiries carried out so far, we believe this may have been a pre-planned and targeted attack on the victim, which has left him with serious injuries.

“The incident happened in a busy residential area, with lots of flats overlooking the street, and it is likely that people will have witnessed what happened.
“I am appealing for anyone who was nearby and saw the assault take place, or noticed anything at all suspicious, to please get in touch.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 2962 of Wednesday, April 28. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
