BOSSES of Glasgow's Playground Music Festival have announced an update on this year's event.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, a decision has been made to push the dates of the bash back.
Outlining that they are "unable to guarantee" a safe event, the July weekend will, instead, be moved to September.
A statement reads: "We don’t know what level Scotland or Glasgow will be in at the end of July and we can’t risk being unable to stage the festival you deserve, to the highest level of safety, professionalism, organisation and of course, good times.
"We want you to be happy but more importantly, we need you to be safe. That’s why this is the only option for us."
Due to the change of date, some acts that were secured for the July weekend will not be able to play in September.
The statement adds: "Disappointingly, not all of our original line-up are able to make the new dates.
"The vast majority can and will, but in a few cases, we have secured replacements.
"However, rest assured, we feel our new line-up is even better than its predecessor with some great new additions. In fact, this is the best line-up we have ever pulled together."
The full line-up for the new dates will be announced next week.
The festival will now take place on September weekend (24, 25 and 26).
