Callum McGregor was RIGHTLY sent off against Rangers yesterday.

That's the opinion of former English Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher who backed Nick Walsh for showing the Celtic midfielder a second yellow card following a late challenge before Gers' opener.

McGregor, who had already been booked, hurtled into a challenge on Glen Kamara before play went on, Ryan Kent found Kemar Roofe and he found the net.

Interim Hoops boss John Kennedy was livid at the decision to punish his side twice - after claiming McGregor's FIRST booking should not have stood - but Gallagher insisted it was the correct decision. "John thought the first one was just a foul," Gallagher told Sky Sports. "Callum went into it and took it with his back foot and I wonder, in fairness to John, if he’d seen it from his vantage point.

"When you see it close up it wasn't the tackle he made, it was the trailing foot and the referee felt that was a yellow card and unfortunately for Callum he made a tackle two minutes later and that was the end of his game."
