A PUBLIC consultation will be held to discuss plans to build homes on the land of a golf club in North Lanarkshire.

Developers want to create a mix of private and affordable housing on the site of Dullatur Golf Club, near Cumbernauld.

Hallam Land Management said it hopes "to deliver an exciting new residential development of family homes" on the land.

The firm says funds generated from the project will be used to enhance the sporting hub.

Gary Smith, the company's director, said: "We're delighted to be giving the public the chance to have a say on our development proposals on the land at Dullatur Golf Club.

"This exciting development provides the perfect opportunity to bring more family housing to the area and deliver economic benefits, such as construction jobs, to the local community."

A pre-planning application notice has now been submitted to North Lanarkshire Council and full details will be unveiled to the public tomorrow at 9am.

A consultation will then take place on Wednesday, May 12, between 11am and 7pm online.
