Peterborough director of football Barry Fry believes Eddie Howe will still want to bring his own staff to Celtic.

The Posh chief has not been surprised to see the deal take some time to get done, with Howe believed to be holding out for recruitment boss Richard Hughes from Bournemouth to join him.

The Hoops are understood to still want Manchester City's Fergal Harkin in the position as sporting director, but Fry believes it would be good business from Celts to give the new manager what he wants as he has proved they can work well together during their time at the Cherries.

Speaking to Transfer Tavern, Fry said: "They work well together at Bournemouth. Knowing Eddie, he would want to take the majority of his backroom staff.

“That’s normal in football now, so I don’t think Celtic would have any problems.”

We told how Eddie Howe had agreed 'in principle' to become Celtic's new boss but there have been a couple of hitches in getting any deal confirmed.

The Englishman met with club hierarchy in a private London meeting where he is believed to have been offered the gig.

But some fans are beginning to grow restless with no announcement made yet and none seeming imminent.
